Students & Teachers & Stress, Oh My!

Students & Teachers & Stress, Oh My!

Hello! Jeremiah here from Team CBD Jubilee. 🙂

In 2017, I finished my Bachelor’s degree, moved to Indianapolis, and began teaching kindergarten- 7th-grade computer science. I had never taught in a classroom, but I had worked in various youth organizations around the country. I didn’t major in computer science, on the contrary, I was an English major and book nerd. However, my time serving in the U.S. Air Force working in Cyber Operations spoke for my computer skills. So, the school agreed to hire me on an emergency waiver. In my naivety, I thought that my experiences might prepare me for the task at hand. I was incorrect.

No amount of student teaching experience can prepare one for the hilarity of kindergarteners, or the mood swings of middle schoolers. Ultimately, I lasted two years in the classroom before realizing I was ready for a different path. My time as a teacher probably taught me more than I was able to teach my students. Between the brief glimpse I got into an education career, and the fact that my partner is a high school administrator, I’ve garnered some insights into the pressures and mental/emotional health issues that our students and teachers face. For the record, I will not be speaking to students who are younger than 18, that’s for a parent and guardian to decide with the help of a family doctor. But, I will speak to the “student/teacher experience” in general terms.

Teachers rarely sleep. Teachers don’t get normal lunch breaks. Teachers usually work over their annual (fall, holiday, spring, summer) “breaks”. Teachers spend all day in the classroom with our children and then spend their evenings grading homework and preparing for the next day’s lessons. It’s a never-ending cycle that is physically, mentally, and emotionally draining, not to mention the financial stress of being dramatically undervalued and underpaid. In today’s classrooms, many teachers are operating as social workers, mentors, and educators, thus there’s a certain degree of emotional baggage they process or release before coming home. Every aspect of this profession requires intentional steps to maintain balance in the other areas of life. And if the teacher’s role has become more difficult in the capitalist-driven era of 2021, you know the role of “student” has become more challenging as well.

Anyone who has spent time in the classroom knows that the workload is rarely small. Stress and anxiety over assignments and exams can be debilitating. Carrying a backpack, bending over a computer, or sitting at a desk for hours a day can cause excruciating pain and discomfort. For those working on their thesis or upper-level projects, the ability to focus on a single task while your to-do-list continues to grow is a real struggle. And who among us kept normal adult sleeping hours in college? Enter the litany of issues we’ve already mentioned — enter CBD.

CBD is known for helping with anxiety, pain, and sleeplessness. However, other powerful cannabinoids serve other purposes. CBC may help with focus. CBG may calm anxiety, and allow you to be present and alert (and won’t make you sleepy). CBN, on the other hand, may help you find deep restorative sleep… The list goes on! These cannabinoids feed your Endocannabinoid System (ECS) and allow your body to do its reparative work naturally. When you take these supplements, you’re feeding your body something it makes naturally: cannabinoids. At CBD Jubilee, we’ve carefully curated products featuring all of these cannabinoids to help students and teachers alike find more joy and productivity in learning. Overcome pain, stress, lack of focus, and exhaustion with these products today and learn how much easier your experience in school can become.

Students and teachers from around the country are joining in the chorus of those singing CBD’s praise. Nearly 50% of New York college students reported using CBD to help cope with student life in a recent study. And this phenomenon isn’t isolated to the east coast. It is happening across the globe as more students learn about the benefits, as discussed in this article. As the stigma and ignorance around hemp and cannabis products slowly recede from mainstream American culture, CBD will continue to take center stage as a safe, daily supplement, perfect for students and teachers alike.

If you know a student or education professional who may need help focusing, sleeping, relaxing, or de-stressing, point them towards CBD; or better yet, send them to CBD Jubilee! There’s no virtue in suffering and suffering itself serves as a distraction from the knowledge that students are supposed to be learning. It IS possible to find balance in life, even for students and teachers. It IS possible to have a focused and alert mind and to feel relief and peace in your body. It’s simply a matter of educating our educators on the benefits of CBD.

How are you doing during this Pandemic?

How are you doing during this Pandemic?

Wow. Talk about stressful times! Everybody is sheltering at home and our ability to connect — other than via phone or computer — is greatly compromised. This is difficult for everyone. We are in a time that is unlike anything we have experienced before. We know we need to stay home and stay away from our loved ones and friends and yet, what we crave is physical closeness. We want to be able to share a meal or give each other a hug.

Some people are faring better than others. They’re catching up on cleaning and purging their apartment or house. They’re taking classes online and playing games with family and friends via Zoom or Face Time. For others, it is not so easy.

A pandemic is scary. No disputing that fact. Whether you are exposed, contract a mild case, end up in the hospital on a ventilator or know someone who has — this is frightening to everyone. That means we are living with a great deal of fear, anxiety and depression. All of which can compromise our health.

How about an opportunity to offer your body a supplement that may help you physically, mentally, and emotionally? CBD has the capacity to feed those receptor sites of your Endocannabinoid System that fire up to help you get back in balance. You may need CBD during the day, the night or a little of both. There are so many different delivery systems: liquids, edibles, flower, topicals, coffee and more. Give us a call or check out the website for what products you might like to try. A little CBD can go a long way to helping you feel more like you are on solid ground.
